Hello,
Looking for a way to monitor open snapshots. Anyone played with this before?
Hi,
This afternoon we were doing work by downloading some MIBs from our network devices and using the compiler to upload them into KNM. It successfully created the .DAT file, said it was queued up. We then restarted the KNM windows service. Going back to the module all of the assets are now gone. Going to the root KNM it does not show any assets there either. We've since restarted the KNM service multiple times and no go. Any ideas?
Hi,
We are trying to remotely monitor a number of FortiGate units and each time we run an 'inspect now' scan nothing happens.
Here is a quick rundown of the environment we've created \ setup.
FortiGate (x2 in an HA cluster):
- LAN Interface is enabled with HTTPS, SSH, SNMP.
- SNMP agent and v2 enabled accepting traps from 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0 (all hosts) with basic name for community name.
- Default port of 161 is being used.
- All units behind the LAN interface (i.e. the Default Gateway) can ping the interface and access the Internet and Kaseya (KNM) server with no issues.
KNM:
- Network Discovery has been run and identified our VMware hosts, Windows VMs, etc...
- SNMP with same community name has been included in LAN Watch.
- ND did not see the FortiGate LAN interface IP ***.
- Successfully created sub-groups adding VMware and Windows VMs.
- Successfully created authentication for Windows, SNMP and VMware.
- VMware and Windows pre-populated with numerous monitors when 'inspect and monitor' was chosen with no issues.
- Configured authentication to include the SNMP community string.
I had to manually add the asset to the sub-group for the Fortinet by the LAN IP Address and from there when I try to run the inspect nothing happens. I'm not able to add any monitors to it either. Can someone call me and see what I am doing wrong?
Lastly, how do we delete manually created assets? I did not see anywhere in the documentation to do so.
Thanks,
I am trying to get ssh working on our esx servers. I have followed the instructions in https://helpdesk.kaseya.com/entries/33303967-Howto-Enable-SSH-on-VMware-ESX-ESXi-5-0-to-be-used-with-KNM to enable SSH on the server itself and I can successfully connect using putty (Although I am testing this on a 5.1 esx server). When I try the lua script at the bottom to test the connection, I'm not getting any results back, the monitor just goes amber and then fails. Not sure where my issue is... Other lua scripts work without an issue.
Has anyone else experienced CIM connection errors where all the cim monitors for an ESX server suddenly fail with error messages like
'Request to CIM server failed with HTTP error code:0'
'Test failed, The CIM service session startup failed! CIM Error: [CIM Error Code = 0] Cannot connect a HTTP(S) socket to CIM host. HTTP Status Code: 0 "Cannot connect to host."; Socket Error Code: 10061'
'Test failed, Cannot execute CIM query or get any property value! ExecQuery reports: "The query "SELECT HealthState FROM HPVC_SAController WHERE Name='vmwControllerHPSA1'" cannot be executed. Reason: ThreadPool --- Failed to enqueue request. Too many queued requests already: smx, active 5, queued 11 ". EnumerateInstances/GetInstance reports: "The property value for "CIM_LogicalElement.[HPVC_SAController;Name='vmwControllerHPSA1'].HealthState" cannot be retrieved. Reason: ThreadPool --- Failed to enqueue request. Too many queued requests already: smx, active 5, queued 11 ".'
Usually we just need to restart the CIM service on the ESX server and everything connects again, but I would like to get something running so I can automatically restart the cim service on a regular interval to stop this from coming up.
We recently migrated from SAAS to On-Premise. We are on version 7.0.0.22
As part of the migration, we have been re-implementing the KNM module on our clients. At close of business yesterday, I had all of our clients up and reporting to KNM (Green checks). Today, I have lost all but 4 and I'm not sure where to start.
What are the steps for troubleshooting KNM issues?
Besides the default port, 5721, are there any other ports KNM relies on for communication?
Does anybody else have issues keeping KNM Gateways reporting to their on-premise servers?
So I have my networks setup in Network Discovery, I've setup a scan probe, and I've scheduled it to scan. When I go to the Network Monitor section and try to install a gateway the dropdown box does not have anything listed. I've tried waiting and rerunning a latest audit (I didn't think it would help) still the dropdown box either lists as blank or on some sites it lists only one endpoint and sometimes it's what I'm after and other times it's a client computer.
How do I get the computer I want as the gateway to show up, I've spent way to much time on it and I'm sure that I'm missing something simple. I'm using on premise and I have the latest patch installed for 7.
Thanks Guys!
We have attempted the conversion twice with Kaseya engineers and it has failed both times. Less than a third of our current Gateways come online. Our larger customers with several hundred monitored devices are not imported leaving us vulnerable to strict SLA's.
Has anyone actually had a successful migration or did you simply rebuild everything?
Hi,
Kaseya Network monitor either crashes ans creates a *.dmp file or lots of errmsg advising that the service
was restarted. ( R8 )
anybody seing the same ?

Hello,
We updated KNM to Build 7345. After telling the object he's a vmware host we added a luascript for monitoring.
Now we get the following error:
Request to CIM server failed with HTTP error code:502
What went wrong?
in the past month my company has done an update on Kaseya to Version 7 which has KNM Integration i am only starting to play around with this tool, and I am wondering how can i add ESXi 5.5 and F5 systems to KNM and allow Kaseya to monitor the systems ?
Found a way to get rid of all those unnamed networks within Network Monitor
and how to specify how to scan a network.
I've been testing wbem_esxi_health_.lua script on several different ESXi 5.0 or 5.1 hosts, single hosts and vcenter managed. I've created user with CIM permissions and after failure also tried root user. Always same result:
"Request to CIM server failed with HTTP error code:0"
Same time CIM Monitor feature to same host is working normally. Am I missing something?
Hi,
Regularly we receive notifications of a gateway being unavailable which turn out to be false alarms and the gateway reconnects. Is there a way to set the gateway timeout limit to reduce the number of false positives?
Thanks
Hi,
somebody using SNMP monitoring in KNM ?
I see eventlog errors, but don't get anything in KNM - trap message - update from gateway ( last 50 trap messages )
somebody can help ?
regards
Hello, new to Kaseya and am looking to setup monitoring. Need to monitor switches/routers and drives in a SAN. Currently running KNM 7.0. Looking for anything on how to set this up. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
John
Hi guys,
I've been testing KNM for the last few weeks and have a few questions I'm hoping the community can help to answer. Feel free to include any KNM best practices you've implemented for your organization.
Thanks if advance for any assistance you can provide.
Hi,
are you using integrated KNM ?
If so, are you also experiencing suc high nbr of problems in availability of the GATEWAYS ? MONITORS ? even with patch 8.0.0.13 installed
If so, how did you remedy ?
it becomes TOOOOO timeconsuming in keeping this system OPERATIONAL.

Hi,
from time to time I have some authentication problems on some servers within one and the same getaway, whilst other don't have any problem.
suddenly "Monitor sets" go in error for access denied, however no settings for that same gateway were done.
It's a hard time to get those monitor sets back operational ( acknowledge alarm / checking and re-encoding credentials / inspect now
nothing seems to help.
Anybody can assist on this problem ?
thks
Hi guys
Im setting up Network Monitor to monitor VMWare hosts. I've successfully set this up on a few servers, but I've got a few where I'm not getting counters in the "VMWare Performance" monitor type. I have clicked the Rescan services button but nothing is presented. I have also run an inspect command on the host - still nothing.
Has anyone else seen this? Initially Im just trying to get CPU/Memory stats. Im on Kaseya r8.
Thanks in advance
Dave
